Thinking of switching to a hybrid but
don't know if it's worth the extra cost? How
high
does the price of gasoline have to go before the extra expense of a
hybrid is
justified? Thinking of switching to
a diesel, but don't know if the additional mileage would
justify the higher cost
of the vehicle and the diesel fuel?
Thinking of switching to E85 and wondering how much it will
cost you in
the long run? Thinking
of buying that new BMW, but worried about the extra cost of premium gas?
Answer these questions and more with the Mileage Evaluator 1.0, a Windows® based computer program that compares the costs of purchasing (or leasing) and fueling two vehicles that get different mileage and/or use different fuels, and tells you when you will start to save money by paying more for a vehicle that gets better mileage. And it will tell you how much extra you'll end up paying to fuel that new BMW.
Just enter the purchase or lease costs of the vehicles, how many miles you drive per year, the per-gallon fuel cost for each vehicle, and the average miles per gallon for each vehicle. The Mileage Evaluator then calculates when you will start to save money by purchasing a vehicle that gets better mileage or by switching to a different fuel, even if the vehicle or fuel costs more initially.
